
The Island of St Eustatius is located at Latitude 17.00°N and Longitude 63.04°W, in the Northeastern corner of the Caribbean and is a Dutch Island, though you can get by anywhere with English.
Statia is a small Island, little more than 11 square miles. The climate is generally dry and sunny. Light constant northeast trade winds bring constant cool breezes and sufficient moisture to keep the average daytime temperature down to about 81° Fahrenheit.
The Quill is a perfectly formed dormant volcano and a designated National Park. The Quill soars dramatically to a height of 2000 feet and is a lush rainforest, which proves an intriguing hiking expedition that has attracted hundreds of visitors.
After you have made the ascent to the crater, catch your breath and relax, then make your descent into the floor of the crater to a depth of 273 meters above sea level, where you can explore the verdant lush tropical rainforest, nestled within its enormous crater.
There are 33 virgin Dive Sites featuring Coral Reefs, Dropoffs, Canyons and Wrecks Old and New. The Islanders are serious about conserving their underwater treasures - dive operators must accompany divers in the park and anchoring is not permitted.
